Service Description

Venue; Horsforth Central Methodist Church, Town St (opposite the library.) Please arrive in time for a 1pm start; if not you may find the doors locked. Enjoy 45 minutes of gentle yoga, followed by 45 minutes of sound relaxation. For this session, we will turn our focus to our love and respect for this beautiful Earth; the only home we have ever known. I will start this session with a reading from the wise Native American people; who remind us to honour the Earth, our mother; to honour all who live on the Earth with us; those on four legs, two legs, winged ones, swimmers, crawlers, plant and rock. During this session you will hear bird song, water, frogs, and interesting whale-like sounds from instruments called flumies; played with the gong. I will play Earth gong to represent everything which lives on the Earth; Wind gong to represent everything which flies through the air, and Ocean drum to represent everything which lives in water. I will play root chakra crystal bowl for feeling the connection between our body and Earth, and heart chakra singing bowl for opening the heart to love and gratitude for this Earth. My wish is to completely immerse you in the beautiful sounds all around us from this beautiful planet. Cost £20 Contraindications It is not recommended that you attend if any of these apply; - If you are in the first 3 months of pregnancy - If you have epilepsy, seizures or an ‘unmanaged’ mental health condition (such as bi-polar, schizophrenia, or any form of complex trauma) - Severe heart conditions You may be more sensitive to Sound Therapy If you have metal plates, have had recent surgery, broken bones or other major physical injuries, have a pacemaker, or if you suffer from tinnitus.
